REZERVIT: A Real Local SF Workspace

Tagged as: .

One of the best hidden gems in North Beach is a workspace called REZERVIT. Located above a small coffee shop on Union street in San Francisco, REZERVIT makes you feel like you ran away to Europe, only to remember you’re just minutes from your home or hotel.

“We’re the only coworking space in North Beach. We’re right next to Washington Square park and some of the best eateries in San Francisco. We’re also walking distance from Coit Tower,” said Molly Bacon, Manager/Community Builder at REZERVIT.

The number of quality restaurants and bars in this area are endless and the small streets make it easy to explore by foot. REZERVIT also has an outdoor patio in case you’d like to eat your lunch right here between meetings.

“It was challenging in the beginning. We wanted to provide a space for people living in this area. And most of our members really do live in this area or in the Marina,” said General Manager/Founder Hasan Mirjan.

Recently, our DesksNear.Me team spent the afternoon working from their space. The hospitality we received was so moving--they welcomed us with a Friday BBQ potluck?!

Between the burgers (and veggie burgers for our vegetarians) and the beers, we couldn’t help but notice the variety of occupations in this space. Between cartoonists, remote workers, consultants, startups, IT staff, video producers and marketers, the people working out of this place come from all types of industries. A refreshing scene coming from our startup village in SoMa.

“A lot of people come here because they don’t want a SoMa-tech vibe. They want something comfortable, the collaboration is very organic here. It’s not forced,” said Molly of their North Beach space. “The variety of expertise opens it up for people to be able to collaborate on different levels.”

There are private offices, daily desks and meeting rooms available. They even have community desk members who can access desks during business hours and regular members that get 24/7 access, an assigned desk, storage, etc.

“Everyone here wants to work. It’s a happy, productive place. We’re not all startups, but everyone is still really focused,” said REZERVIT member Elizabeth White from Lela Inc.

The space is run by Hasan, an energetic, community driven man who cares for REZERVIT like it’s his home.

“We started this space three years ago because there was none in this area, north of Market,” he said. “The safety is really important here--with plenty of options for food and walking is safe.”

After spending just one afternoon, we can tell that those who work out of REZERVIT are taken care of and it is a special place away from home that any SF local or visitor should consider working from. They even offer yoga classes every Wednesday night. You can book a desk here.

“We wanted to create a community in this neighborhood and that’s how it all started,” said Hasan.

REZERVIT is rebranding and next week will be SpherePad. Look out for their new logo and don’t forget to stop by, say hello or send them a tweet @SpherePad.
