Work at Your Own Pace at Makeshift Society

In the busyness of San Francisco, it’s hard to find a peaceful place to work. At Makeshift Society, you can’t help but feel a little bit more focused.

Inspired by the feel of a library or even a club house, Makeshift Society has a lending library with books, comfy couches, and open desks that look chic and artsy. The workspace includes professionals such as writers, photographers, graphic designers, makers and more.

My experience working from this space led me to stay a little longer than I intended. Usually, I stay at a space for the morning, but after working from their extra comfy couch with my feet up on the coffee table, I decided to stay a little longer. The reason for this is that I felt like I was working from a coffee shop/home but with other people also working at the same time.

Makeshift Society usually has out of town guests and locals. They have an ever changing list of members without doing any advertising other than being listed on a few coworking sites like DesksNear.Me.

“It’s an inspiring space that allows flexibility in your work life balance. If you want more or less from your space, it’s available,” said Christina Bohn, front desk at Makeshift Society.

The communal environment helps friendships flourish. It’s a place where you can ask someone to proofread or review something you just created. (A very cool perk that coffee shops don’t offer) It’s also conveniently located near popular Hayes Valley restaurants.

Stop by Makeshift Society in San Francisco and find the perfect space to drink a cup of tea and get your work done at your own pace.

If you're not visiting or working from San Francisco, don't worry! Makeshift Society launched a new location in Brooklyn. Enjoy!
